Ms Xun Cao obtained her Juris Doctor Degree  and Master Degree of Law  (Corporate, Commercial & Taxation) from University of NSW in Sydney and a Bachelor of Laws degree from East China University of Political Science & Law in Shanghai.  She is qualified in both jurisdictions and was admitted in the Supreme Court of New South Wales since 2018 and qualified as a lawyer of People’s Republic of China since 2007.

Xun specializes in business law, corporate law, civil and commercial litigation, family law and employment law.  

On Commercial & civil litigation, Xun handles a diverse range of cases in the areas of commercial litigation, corporate law, contract law, and equity matters. She represents clients in proceedings before the Supreme Court of NSW, the District Court, and the Local Court.

Xun’s corporate experience includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring and restructures, international and cross-border transactions, shareholder and joint venture agreements and general corporate and commercial advice.  Prior to joining Ma & Company Solicitors in 2020, she gained substantial corporate experiences at King & Wood Mallesons and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP as a transactional lawyer. She had extensive experience in handling cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and foreign investments.

Xun also got extensive expertise and knowledge in various aspects of family law, including property, parenting , divorce, De-facto relationships, spouse maintenance and child support.  She regularly represents clients as a solicitor advocate before federal circuit courts and in arbitration and mediation proceedings.

Xun is very experienced in advising both employers and employees on permanent employment arrangements, causal employee engagement and independent contractor.  She also represents the employers before the fair work commission and federal circuit courts.
